What is the SSLZOL email platform?

This is the old server used by ZOL Zimbabwe to host email services which will be decommissioned by the 30th of August 2021.

What services are available on the new platform?

The new platform offers domain name registration and email hosting services. It also offers website builder and security services.

What are the benefits of the new platform service?

The benefits of the new platform are:

  • Access important documents, email, contact and calendar from any device anywhere.

Does the new platform offer a webmail portal for emails?

Yes, the new platform is cloud-based and offers a webmail portal. You can also use email programs such as Outlook and Apple Mail.

What is the cost, if any, associated with the migration?

Each mailbox costs US $1.00 per month or the ZWL equivalent at the prevailing bank rate.

What happens if I made a payment in advance, will I be required to make another payment?

Your payments will be reallocated proportionally to cover the new platform subscription. i.e., if you had used 50% the remaining 50% will be allocated to your new subscription.

What happens if I am paid up for the year and I do not wish to migrate to the new platform, will you refund me?

Yes, we will refund you.

Will I lose any emails or data during the migration process?

We regrettably advise that there is a risk of emails being lost during the migration and therefore we encourage customers to back up their emails before initiating the migration process to minimise the risk of email loss as ZOL Zimbabwe cannot be held accountable for any lost emails.

How do I migrate to the new platform?

An instruction will be sent to your ZOL registered email, directing you on the migration process. This migration is not automatic and failure to migrate will result in disruption of web and email services. I am not technical and do not have an IT person, will I receive necessary assistance?

We have put together step by step configuration instructions for the popular email programs and encourage you to make use of the manuals. Will my email services be disrupted during the migration? If yes, what will happen to emails sent to me during the migration?

Yes, your emails will be disrupted but only for a few minutes while we migrate you to the new platform. We have updated the respective systems and configuration to ensure a smooth transition. For you as the customer there will little to no impact, meaning emails will be delayed but still delivered to your new mailbox.

Additional information

Take note each package comes with a standard disk space of 5GB, and additional disk space is also available in increments of 5GB should you require it. ZOL Zimbabwe will charge you for each additional 5GB of disk space at the prevailing bank rates.

ZOL Zimbabwe will not primarily be providing nor installing SSL/TLS certificates as the new platform allows you to do so without our assistance. However, should you require assistance from us for this service we can send you a quotation for the purchase of the SSL/TLS certificates
